Career Overview

A Ground Person assists in the removal of trees, trimming of branches, and general maintenance of trees. These duties can include hauling brush and wood, general tree maintenance such as inspecting trees for damage, pruning, fertilizing, and planting new trees. They may also use chemicals to prevent pests, fungus, and insects. A ground person also supports worksite safety by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and persons from above, and by conducting jobsite cleanup and equipment maintenance.
