The Land and Minerals Department is seeking a highly motivated and responsible natural resources oriented professional to serve as a chief assistant to the Land and Minerals Director directly overseeing the department’s operations in forest and land management in high-level planning, administration, commodities, fiscal responsibility, and environmental stewardship.

Position location negotiable and will be based at our Duluth, Pike Lake, or Virginia, Minnesota office locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in forestry, planning, resource management, geology, engineering, business administration or a closely related field AND seven (7) years full-time paid verifiable progressively responsible experience, two (2) years of which was supervising or assisting in the administration of a natural resource management program; OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in forestry, planning, resource management, geology, engineering, business administration or a closely related field AND five (5) years full-time paid verifiable progressively responsible experience, two (2) years of which was supervising or assisting in the administration of a natural resource management program.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
