Forest Analyst

NCRM is currently recruiting for a Forest Analyst position in Ukiah, CA to support carbon offset projects,

timber inventory, and timberland appraisals. Location is flexible, but preference will be given to

candidates who are local or those who can relocate.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development of carbon offset projects and timberland appraisals.

• Assist in the preparation of offset project data reports and verification documentation.

• Conduct feasibility studies and estimates project performance and valuation of forest assets for

new and existing clients.

• Support forest inventory design and implementation.

• Traverse, collect data, and map project areas.

• Perform project management duties both in organization of own work and in support of other

team members.

Abilities: We are looking for a talented team member with good communication skills, problem solving

ability, and a desire to learn. You should possess the following skills, experience, and background.

• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.

• Familiarity with FORSEE, FVS or other growth and yield models.

• Familiarity with carbon offset standards and protocols.

• Familiarity with forest inventory design and implementation.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access and ESRI ArcMap for GIS Analysis.

• Possess self-motivation, solid time-management, follow-through skills and the ability to work

against a deadline.

• Bachelor of Science in Forestry or similar natural resources related field.

Physical Demands/Working Environment: The position at times requires field work on foot and working

on steep, rugged, and brushy terrain, often in inclement weather. A valid drivers license is required and

must be capable of safely operating an ATV.
