The Region Manager is a key leadership position in the Arkansas-Oklahoma Region within Weyerhaeuser’s Southern Timberlands Business. The position is located in De Queen, Arkansas, but requires coverage of the entire region spanning parts of Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas, and will include business travel of approximately 40%. As the Region Manager, you will be responsible for leading the AROK area, comprised of approximately 1 million acres. As part of the leadership team, you will also participate in the formation and lead the execution of the strategic vision for the region that is aligned with the Company direction. 

The position reports to the Southern Timberlands Vice President and collaborates closely with other functional Directors.


Key Functions

  • Promote a safe and sustainable work environment and ensure that the regional team is operating in alignment with accepted business policies
  • Responsible for Region P&L and forecasting
  • Assess organization needs and verify cross-function checks and balances
  • Serve as the Region champion by representing the team view and communicating key business information
  • Monitor and establish regional short-term production rate targets for all contract operations to ensure delivery of plan in alignment with functional strategies
  • Ensure customer commitments are met
  • Responsible for people management and the development of the region team
  • Participate in the development of the regional functional strategy and roadmaps for continuous improvement
  • Support all regional functional leads and other Weyerhaeuser businesses
  • Role model for Company Vision and Core Values


Qualifications 

  • Integrity, Safety, Sustainability, Citizenship, and Inclusion Value Champion
  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in Forestry or related field with at least 8 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to budget, plan and manage large projects and initiatives
  • Proven experience in situational management, coaching/counseling, and team building
  • Ability to successfully lead initiatives that maximize shareholder value
  • Ability to lead and work effectively across organizational/functional boundaries with diverse teams
  • Excellent communication, time management and persuasion skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including GIS and Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated teaming and leadership skills
  • Understanding of and commitment to meeting customer value delivery expectations
  • Development, replication, and execution of south-wide best practices

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $139,200 - $208,756 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is also eligible to receive $32K in restrictive stock units on an annual basis, as part of our Long Term Incentive Plan.

Retirement
: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.

Paid Time Off or Vacation
: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
