$41,400 – 55,200

• Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform: 

• Assume pro-active role in the Facility Safety program.
• Maintain reports / records on computer equipment as required.
• Operate knuckleboom loader, front end loader, tractor, dump truck, aerial lift, or other log handling equipment to ensure efficient loading and unloading of logs.
• Operate utility vehicles to perform clean-up duties.
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance procedures on all woodyard equipment.
• Perform downtime maintenance repairs.
• Complete maintenance and inspection reports.
• Perform clean-up and housekeeping activities.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

OTHER:

• Must be able to work the hours 6AM till 3PM M-F and Saturday as scheduled (generally 1 per month or as mill needs dictate).
• Must be able to work in extremely adverse conditions with high degree of irritation from moisture, heat, cold, and dust.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to travel to other work sites and provide personal means of transportation to these sites if required.
• Must be willing to perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
• Work safely; follow safety rules, wear all safety PPE.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrate ability or commensurate experience to operate and maintain equipment which may include, but is not limited to, knuckleboom loader, utility tractor, on-site tractor-trailer, dump truck, wheel loader, aerial man lift, and any other log handling or maintenance equipment as required.

Perform maintenance and repair activities: 

• Demonstrate ability to safely and professionally perform mechanical repairs on yard components, maintenance equipment, irrigation systems, and any other as required.
• Execute safe and proficient use of hand and power tools.
• Perform as an engaged team member within a team framework.
• Employ interpersonal skills that enhance the “team” approach to work and problem solving.
• Adhere to the International Paper principle of treating all persons with dignity and respect.
• Perform basic computer skill activities as required including recordkeeping and report completion, administering personal data and benefits requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

SAFETY:

• Must have a safe attitude and follow OSHA, International Paper, and any other applicable regulations.
• Must wear and become certified to use all required personal protective equipment.

Examples of PPE include:

• Orange hard hat
• Hi viz safety vest
• Hearing protection / ear plugs
• Safety eye wear protection
• Foot protection / steel-toed boots
• Any other equipment required to do a job safely.
• Report all injuries immediately.
• Report company and producer equipment damages.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Work requires variable amounts of time sitting per shift, up to twelve hours.
• Climbing may also be required for maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Knuckleboom loader operations and maintenance may require work to be performed outside catwalks with the use of fall protection at heights up to 30 feet.
• Climbing ladders with height of 20 feet or more for performance of routine maintenance and loader operation is required.
• Loader operation requires simultaneous movement of hands and feet.
• Loader operation requires, at minimum, a normal depth perception vision.
• Required movement to operate the joystick controller for loader operation includes pushing and pulling.
• Frequent left and right rotation of the neck is necessary to view loading and unloading operations.
• Work may occasionally require physical effort in lifting heavy items.
• Occasionally, considerable effort is required to move a heavy part in place or lift a heavy tool. Required movement may include, but is not limited to, carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Pushing, pulling, twisting, kneeling, and bending may also be required for clean-up duties.
• In addition to lifting and carrying, maintenance and repair activities may require twisting, pushing, kneeling, bending, crawling, reaching, and balancing.
• Walking distances of several hundred yards while carrying maintenance or service tools.
• Perform other duties and physical responsibilities as required.
