Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with fiber suppliers in designated commodities
- Actively communicate on behalf of Enviva to suppliers, ensuring communication supports Enviva’s core values and aligns with organization goals and objectives
- Provide feed back to both suppliers and plant operations aimed at improving overall quality, volume, consistency and value of supply.
- Procure most financially beneficial fiber to Enviva’s/Plant’s respective overall P&L, while ensure supply volume meets required demand for mill production
- Maintain knowledge of supplier operating capacity and ensure supplier harvest / delivery plans consistently satisfy supply plans defined by Regional Fiber Supply Planner
- Track and communicate performance (safety, delivery, cost, quality) trend information with suppliers and identify / suggest areas for continuous improvement to suppliers
- Ensure suppliers provide current and accurate legal and sustainability documentation (MWPAs, financial payment information, insurance, contracts, and so on)
- Provide tract setup information to administrative staff to ensure material can be procured in accordance with our Sustainability policies and can be received at appropriate sites
- Perform required forestry / sustainability / certification related audits
- Identify, communicate, and validate new potential sources of supply as necessary to fulfill supply plans or mitigate supplier performance issues
- Develop, maintain, and communicate intimate knowledge of the current state of fiber supply business in the operating area, including competitor activity
- Perform ad-hoc projects / tasks as needed to support team and company objectives

Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an SAF accredited institution in forestry, Logistics, or sourcing or related field or 5+ years equivalent forestry experience
- 3+ years of experience specifically related to fiber sourcing, forestry, and/or raw material procurement.
- Working knowledge of forestry, logging best practices, and sustainability certification schemes
- Willingness to travel to and operate in remote outdoor environments
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle
- Critical thinking capabilities to analyze market intelligence resulting in the most value-added decisions for overall plant performance and fiber cost
- Strong communication skills and ability to understand manufacturing processes and to aid partnerships with operations leadership for the most beneficial actions to the business
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing and maintaining supplier relationships
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel
