AN53 Natural Resources II-Forestry -High School Forest Worker Certificate Program

North Carolina ForestryWorks® and North Carolina FFA are excited to launch AN53 Natural Resources II-Forestry. This is a level 2 completer course in the agricultural education natural resources pathway and includes a credential. This is designated as a Tier III credential by NC DPI.

Overview

The Forest Worker Certificate Program was developed to prepare future workers for employment in one of the South’s largest industries. Employment opportunities vary greatly and include jobs in logging, forest management, timber procurement, sawmills, plywood mills, pulp and paper mills and a wide variety of companies that provide goods and services to the forest industry.​​​

High school teachers will have the opportunity to attend Forest Worker Certificate Program trainings to become certified to teach the program to students. Teachers will be provided the resources needed to teach the course including workbooks, quizzes, and presentations. The course and testing are offered through an online platform.

The course has been approved for articulation by the NC State BOard of Community Colleges. 

The credential is designated as a Tier III credential by NC DPI.

Hours of instruction: 135 block or 150 regular
