Announcement from NCFA
Congratulations to the First Cohort of North Carolina Certified Forest Worker Credential Awardees

The AN53 Natural Resources II – Forestry course is now in its second semester, and ForestryWorks of North Carolina is excited to see more schools and counties adopting the course across the state.  It is exciting to see many students learning about forestry and its career paths! Earlier this year, the first two classes officially completed the course. Congratulations to our first forestry worker credential awardees!

The first cohort of North Carolina Certified Forest Worker Credential awardees hail from Mountain Heritage High School and Rosman High School. Congratulations to the students and teachers on their hard work!

“My students were so excited to complete the AN53 course and obtain the credential. With the days they were out of school during Hurricane Helene, they had to put in a lot of effort on their own to make up for the time missed in class, but the course was laid out so they could study the material and take practice quizzes, and in the end, they were successful.” –Nicole Robinson, Mountain Heritage High School, Yancey County.

Connect with the North Carolina Forestry Association on LinkedIn and Facebook to stay connected with this exciting program! The North Carolina Forestry Association teamed up with the North Carolina FFA Association to create North Carolina’s first-ever high school forestry course with an industry-aligned credential: AN53 Natural Resources II-Forestry. Through collaboration with ForestryWorks®, the course was created and was implemented in high schools beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. Learn more about the course and credential here.
