Alabama ForestryWorks® Staff Reads Lucy Conoce a un Talador to ESL Students During Read Across America Week

March 5th, 2024- Alabama ForestryWorks® and Alabama Forestry Foundation staff partnered to read Lucy Conoce a un Talador (Spanish translation of Lucy Meets a Logger) and educate elementary aged students about the sustainable forest industry. Two classes of English as a Second Language (ESL) students from Albertville Primary School were able to learn about forest management, logging, reforestation and the many forest industry careers they can have have in the future. This reading took place in conjunction with Read Across America Week, a national effort to promote and celebrate childhood literacy.

Lucy Conoce a un Talador was written in effort to provide a larger number of diverse students with educational resources about sustainable forestry and the meaningful careers available within the industry. ForestryWorks® is working to translate all of the titles in the Tiny Timber Crew® series and all high school credential programs into Spanish.
