We are seeking an experienced and proactive IT Manager to oversee information technology operations. The IT Manager will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the facility’s IT infrastructure to ensure seamless production processes, data security, and operational efficiency. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with technical support, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the facility’s goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance and performance of all IT systems, including servers, networks, workstations, and production-related technologies (e.g., manufacturing execution systems, IoT devices, Cisco switches, Meraki APs, Sophos firewalls).
  • System Security: Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data backup protocols, to protect sensitive production and business data.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime for production systems.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for IT services, software licenses, and hardware procurement, ensuring cost-effective solutions and reliable support.
  • Software and Systems Integration: Manage and support software applications critical to production, such as ERP systems, inventory management tools, and production scheduling software, ensuring integration with operational workflows.
  • Budget and Planning: Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting for hardware/software upgrades and recommending technology investments to improve efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with production and management teams to identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, or technology adoption to enhance productivity.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or cyberattacks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 3-7 years of experience in IT management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
    • Proven experience with network administration, system administration, server management, and IT security.
    • Familiarity with production-related technologies (e.g., ERP systems, MES, or industrial IoT) is a plus.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in managing Windows/Linux servers in a VMWare environment, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Meraki Cloud, Cisco Small Business Dashboard).
    • Experience with IT security tools (e.g., firewalls, endpoint protection) and backup solutions. Sophos experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of production software (e.g., Sage 100, Epicor, or similar ERP systems) is preferred.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, or ITIL) are a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with frequent visits to the production floor to support systems and equipment.
  • Occasional trips to remote office locations (60-mile radius) for on-site technical support.
  • Periodic after-hours or weekend work may be required for system maintenance, software updates, or emergency support.
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs.) as needed.
