Forest Products Processing Manager
Career Overview
Forest products processing managers oversee teams of employees who operate pulp and paper mills, sawmills, planing mills, plywood and particleboard mills, and similar production mills. To become a mill supervisor, you will need technical training covering some or all of the mill's complex processes. Learning on the job and building your seniority in the mill are also essential. As you gain experience, you may also mentor and train other staff. Your career track could see you move into senior managerial, design, advanced control, training, or sales positions.
