Inventory Control Clerk

Founded in 1971, Redwood Empire is one of the premiere Wholesale Lumber companies in Northern California. Redwood Empire has an immediate opening for an Inventory Control Clerk at our Morgan Hill, CA distribution yard.

The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for accurately recording inventory-related transactions into the ERP system. The ideal candidate possesses strong math skills, is detail-oriented, and passionate about inventory analysis and reconciliation. This position works closely with our accounting and operations teams.

Duties Include:

• Receives inventory for Morgan Hill and other branches into the ERP system, assigning proper costs to all receipts, remans, and material returns.
• Re-tags and adjusts costs according to plant guidelines for remanufacturing requests and milling orders.
• Maintains accurate reconciliations between computer and physical inventory.
• Maintains accurate records of off-premise inventories and mill orders.
• Researches high and low margins for possible receiving or work order errors.
• Maintains current Purchase Order files.
• Batches and prepares wire payments for material purchases.
• Assists with inventory cycle and physical counts.
• Closes production runs in ERP system daily.
• Reconciles yard supplies inventory monthly.
• Answers phones.
• Deposits checks.
• Additional duties as required.

This is a full-time nonexempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Occasional early morning, evening or weekend work may be required.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Prior receiving experience.
• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Lumbertrack software is desired.

Physical Requirements: 

The Inventory Control Clerk works primarily in the office but must visit the yard and remanufacturing area regularly. The Inventory Control Clerk must move over uneven ground in the yard areas. When they are in the yard, they will be outdoors or in warehouses and are exposed to weather, including high heat and rain.
