Fiber Procurement Manager

The Manager is responsible for all aspects of fiber procurement for Highland Pellets.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain relationships with regional suppliers in all aspects of fiber procurement.
- Utilize contracts to track all deliveries of fiber into all plants against volume and quantity
- Communicate regularly with all vendors in current and future areas to gather a complete view of the overall market and report findings with a special emphasis on opportunities and risks.
- Manage, with the support of the Management Team, the delivery of all fiber to existing and future facilities.
- Negotiate and contract additional fiber and logistics for both existing and future facilities.
- Remain informed concerning raw materials and logistics within the region and relay information regularly.
- Implement initiatives to secure fiber and logistics to obtain the best terms and quality at the lowest cost
- Interface closely with mill and chip mill to coordinate all inventories. • Maintain database of wood and fiber suppliers, price, volume, location of purchases, product type, and additional information as needed.
- Generate o Purchase Orders o Supplier Sources o Tracking of Purchase Orders and Source IDs o Supplier List with product type, contact details o Volume and price monitoring o Stage of onboarding of new suppliers (interview conducted, PO) o Certificate management o BMP Checks
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in forest, agricultural resources and/or commodities.
- Procurement experience; truck logistics, negotiation, contract management and sustainability certification.
- Preferable experience in wood or feed pellet production.
- Extensive experience and skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficient knowledge of quality certification systems and procedures.
- Exhibit ability to handle numerous tasks, projects, supply lines, clients and vendors simultaneously.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Agricultural Economics, Business or related.
- 5+ years in biomass or residuals procurement experience required.
Requirements:
- Willingness to travel 50%.
- Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge, i.e., Word, Excel, Internet, etc.
- Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 plus potential bonuses
