Arborist - City of Bessemer

The City of Bessemer is seeking qualified Arborists with comprehensive experience in tree care operations, including planting, trimming, insect and disease control, and removal of tree limbs and debris. Arborists will utilize various hand tools and equipment to maintain the health and safety of trees and shrubs. Responsibilities include responding to public concerns about potentially hazardous situations, such as low-hanging branches and fallen trees, requiring effective communication and excellent customer service skills. The role involves working at heights using a bucket truck or ladder to access high limbs. Arborists operate independently, receiving assignments from supervisors and adhering to safety guidelines and industry best practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The following are job-related qualifications that are required for employment consideration for this position:

Experience working for a professional tree service trimming/removing trees using a variety of chain saws and other equipment including ropes, saddles, etc.
Experience using and operating a bucket truck or aerial lift to trim/remove trees.
Driver’s license.

Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
