Planer Supervisor

Summary
Ashton Lewis Sullivan is seeking a dedicated and reliable Planermill Supervisor to be responsible for leading all team members in the Planermill to be work injury/incident free while achieving mill objectives in safety, reliability, quality, and costs. Ashton Lewis Sullivan is a well-established Sawmill with an excellent reputation of producing high quality lumber.


What you are responsible for:

· Lead, manage and develop the Planermill team.

· Develop and maintain safety program for the Planermill. Ensure employee ownership in safety and ensure all team member are held accountable to safe work practices.

· Environmental activities associated with the Planermill department.

· Initiate, implement, and maintain a Quality Control program based on best practices of the lumber industry.

· Ensure that all lumber is manufactured to the highest standards of the industry.

· Supervise and responsible for all Planermill personnel.

· Coordinate with Office and Sales Manager for Lumber Pickups

· Ensure that all Planermill personnel are properly trained and equipped to ensure that they can accomplish their jobs in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

· Perform employee reviews and put development plans in place for Planermill team members.


Basic qualifications needed:

· Minimum of 5 years in leadership of in a sawmill manufacturing environment.

· High School Diploma or GED.

· Experience in driving safety excellence in a manufacturing environment.

· Computer proficient in MS Office applications and the ability to learn various PC-based applications in a mill.

· Be able to work in a manufacturing environment.

· Must be able and willing to work in a flexible work schedule.

· Strong problem solving, organization and leadership skills
