Forest Workforce Training Institute Career Advancement Scholarship Program

The Career Advancement Scholarship is financial assistance provided for current employees of forestry and forestry-related companies/organizations who wish to obtain a professional degree required for advancement in their career in the forest industry.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years employed by a forestry or forestry-related company or organization
  • Recommendation from current employer
  • Available for individuals seeking a bachelor’s degree in forestry or a forestry-related field from an SAF-accredited program
  • Available only for individuals working in Alabama

Details:

  • Assistance includes tuition, fees and books
  • Maximum assistance - $5,000 per semester
  • Must maintain a 2.5 GPA
  • Assistance is annually renewable based on the discretion of the Scholarship Committee

Financial assistance will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Committee based on any or all of the following factors: the amount of funds available, the number of applicants, and the qualifications and needs of the applicant. The Forest Workforce Training Institute provides financial assistance regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, marital status, or age.
