Weyerhaeuser is searching for an Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Manager within our Southern Timberlands Business to support the Arkansas/Oklahoma and North Louisiana/Arkansas Regions. It is a full-time, exempt position that can be based out of our Broken Bow, OK; De Queen, AR; Sheridan, AR or Crossett, AR office.
As the EMS Manager, you will be responsible for the alignment and implementation of environmental support functions across the regional footprints of Arkansas/Oklahoma and North Louisiana/Arkansas Regions encompassing approximately 2.7 million acres. You will also lead the rollout and implementation of SFI and BMP programs and other compliance initiatives for the regions. You will be one of five EMS Managers, each supporting operations at the region or multi-region level across Weyerhaeuser’s ownership in Southern Timberlands. The EMS team works closely with other environmental functions providing support on emerging environmental issues, wildlife research and conservation agreements.
Key Functions
Provide environmental support and oversight on regulatory and compliance standards for forest management operations
Lead Weyerhaeuser SFI external audits
Represent the organization on key state environmental committees
Provide leadership in the interpretation and implementation of the SFI Standard and Weyerhaeuser’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
Provide expertise in state BMP compliance and implementation
Investigate environmental incidents and lead the region’s efforts to manage operational/environmental risk
Build and develop collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to achieve results
Demonstrate a commitment to Weyerhaeuser’s vision and core values that include safety, integrity, citizenship, sustainability and inclusion
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Forestry, Biology, Hydrology or related field
At least 5 years of associated job experience
Forestry-related working familiarity of Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Forestry Best Management Practices and forest certification programs
Experience in creating and executing large-scale environmental compliance programs that support and direct operations
Proven ability to lead a team and achieve high level performance on audits, inspections or appraisals (e.g., SFI audits)
Ability to work and network within key environmental committees and groups
Willing to travel frequently (20–30%) and work remotely across a multistate region
Commitment to be an environmental and safety champion
Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team of people across multiple business functions to achieve and exceed environmental expectations
Excellent communication skills, technical writing skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships
Adequate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ArcMap
What We Offer
Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $86,742 - $130,250 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
